Annual IPAF Rental + Audit

Last week we successfully passed our annual rental plus audit.

IPAF Rental+ is an independent quality mark that is awarded to member rental companies who have been audited to meet defined standards in customer service, safety, staff training, contract terms and machine inspection. Each audited company gets a return visit from the auditors every year. In essence, the IPAF Rental+ sign distinguishes reliable suppliers of access equipment from the others. We are delighted to have maintained the high standards required by IPAF and look forward to serving our customers over the next year adhering to these principles.

Jason Anker – A fall from height

Used the Ladder Association’s DVD ” A fall from height ” by Jason Anker for the first time today on the Ladder User Course.
It is a concise and effective film that illustrates the potential consequences of a fall of just ten feet. Jason was left wheelchair-bound and without sexual function,bladder and bowel control.
It is without doubt the most moving testament to the importance of health and safety at work. The candidates today were deeply impressed and vowed to change the way they worked in future.

Steps and Ladder CPD for Instructors

Last week saw Stuart Hopkins from The Ladder Association run a CPD Seminar for Instructors in Gloucester which was very well attended. New courses were outlined including a ” Non user course for Managers” and a ”Working with Steps and Step Stools” suitable for schools, supermarkets and any organisations that require formal training for those employees using that specific work equipment.

IPAF Training Audit a success

We are pleased to announce that today we passed our annual IPAF Training Audit. We will continue to provide IPAF Operator Training to our customers in the South West of England.

With our new larger training facilities we are able to run IPAF MEWP Operator and PASMA Tower training courses simultaneously on the same day thereby reacting to customer needs.

More IPAF & PASMA courses to be run in Exeter in new training room

Due to the increased demand for Safety training courses in the Exeter area Light Hire’s training facilities have been expanded. The new larger training rooms will allow more delegates to attend the PASMA Tower for Users courses and the IPAF Operators MEWP training that can be accommodated at the same time. Last week Light Hires PASMA Instructor completed the required training to allow the new PASMA Work at Height Essentials course to be run together with the PASMA Low Level Access training course.

New PASMA Courses to be run in South West

Following the successful PASMA CPD seminar hosted by Light Hire Ltd today in Exeter, a number of new PASMA courses will now be run benefiting companies and individuals in the Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Avon areas. The PASMA Work at Height Essentials Course, The PASMA Low Level Access, and the PASMA AGR for Users Tower Courses will now be run to help individuals to work safely and help employers comply with their duty of care to ensure all employees receive training on any work equipment used in the work place. An Asbestos Awareness presentation will also be made to all candidates taking any PASMA courses in the future to help the HSE spread the word about the dangers of exposure to Asbestos.
