Abrasive Wheel Training
We offer a1/2 Day Abrasive Wheels Safety Awareness course.
As training providers, we undertake many abrasive wheel/cut off saw courses for a vast range of clients, this generally takes place at our training centre at a time to suit them and on occasion the training has taken place on clients sites to cater for their business needs. The work equipment for the course is to be supplied by us so there is no additional cost for equipment.
Who should attend?
This programme is suitable for all employees, who, as part of their working duties fit or use abrasive wheels as defined in PUWER Regulations 1998 regulation 12 (229f) as above. The aim of the training is to comply with legislation, enable delegates to work safely, to provide an understanding of current legislation and promote awareness of hazards. To offer practical steps to reduce workplace accidents and encourage workers to adopt a culture that results in a safer workplace.
Aims and Objectives
The course will enable delegates to ensure that safety issues are managed efficiently, protecting the workforce, other people and the general environment, and will ensure that legal compliance is achieved.
Course Content
The Health & Safety at Work Etc Act 1974 and to include:
- Overview of health and safety legislation
- PUWER 1998
- Hazards, Risks & Risk Control Measures
- Accident prevention
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Types of machines and Abrasive Wheels
- Basic Handling of equipment
- Environment to be used/not used
- Storage, mounting and inspection on wheels
- Means of reporting
- Course assessment

Course Delivery
This three hour course is presented by NEBOSH qualified competent instructors that are members of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at a venue local to delegates with lecture room facilities.
Certification
Certificates are awarded to successful candidates and are valid for 5 years.
