Target Groups

Any person(s) who, as part of their working duties are required to use and inspect safety harnesses.

Aims

The aim of the training is to provide candidates with the necessary information in the safe use and inspection of safety harnesses.

Objectives

At the end of the instruction the candidates will be able to:

  • Have an understanding of the statutory regulations
  • Identify types of fall arrest equipment
  • Understand why fall arrest equipment is needed
  • Appreciate when to be clipped on
  • Inspect fall arrest equipment
  • Understand how harnesses will affect working methods

  • Health & Safety legislation & regulations
  • Identifying types of fall arrest equipment
  • Selecting fall arrest equipment
  • Correct fitting of harnesses
  • Shock-absorbing lanyards and fall arrest blocks
  • Anchor points and connectors
  • Care and maintenance of equipment
  • Inspection of harnesses and recording requirements
  • Manufactures Instruction Manuals and associated paperwork
  • Multi-choice test paper

Safety Requirements

As the instruction may be carried out on site, we will, of course adhere to the client’s site regulations and requirements.

PPE must be worn at all times throughout the practical element of the instruction.
